Ok sharp! It’s about that time, we are popping bottles again. Sunday, the 29th of November sees the 2009 Pop Bottles Finale!. DJ Dimplez is taking us to new heights, the venue will automatically make you step your game up. It’s going down at Urban Tree, Kramerville, Sandton.
The Dj lineup is monstrous featuring Joburg’s finest - Milkshake, Vigi Lante, Jay Musik, Master M and Switch to only but mention a few (see invite above). Presold tickets are sold at R100 available at Shesha (Rosebank), Gallery On 4th (Melville) and Pulsate (Sandton) or R150 at the door.
The theme is neon so come out in your most colourful get-up and sneakers. PBTV will be shooting, so come in your best attitudes. This is daytime action, it kicks off at 12h00 till 21h00 then you can go make your own after party at Club Duvet and get ready for work the next day….

Ruben Ramolefi is a steeplechaser. Jumping hurdles and skipping water ditches over 3000 metres are only some of the challenges he has to face regularly. Not only is a Law degree in his immediate sight, but also a medal at the next games, is winking down the far end of the inside track.

Rattex (aka Rah), but Thabo Tetwa to his mom, has risen from the dust to give voice to the challenges of kasi life. Spitting his rugged rhymes in a combination of isiXhosa, English and spaza, he raps from the heart, laying down tracks that grab the South African reality by the neck. Like the poison from which he takes his name, he is quick to act and dangerous on the mic.

Mr. Musa Nxumalo sees the world in black-and-white and every other shade of grey…sometimes even in colour. Just don’t ask him about his influences. If the only thing you want to talk about is his love of Joy Division, the Wombats and/or Fokofpolisiekar and how a black kid from the township can channel these references into his black-and-white, rock-and-roll inspired photography, then you will most probably find another clichéd repeat answer from this stereotype-busting, shooting-from-the-gut, this-is-my-life, man, image maker - from Soweto.
