YEBO! WE ARE STILL LACING UP!
In support of Nike and ( RED )’s unique two-pronged partnership approach to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa, leading footballers Didier Drogba, Andrei Arshavin, Clint Dempsey, Denilson, Marco Materazzi, Javier Macherano, Fabio Cannavaro along with Maria Sharapova and Kobe Bryant came together in a new viral film released by Nike to encourage fans globally to ‘Lace Up and Save Lives’.
(NIKE) RED Lace Up Save Lives from NikeSportswear on Vimeo.Gallery on 4th still holds the Nike ( RED ) laces in stock, come pick up a pair at R 39.99 and support the cause.BACK IN ACTION
We had to close the space for a minute and now we are back in action. We kick-start 2010 with a fresh local story focusing on the Kaizer Chiefs 40th anniversary kit!

For those of you who haven’t been to the space, it’s sort of like a walk-in billboard where you could get the in depth story on the project and purchase the product at the same time. We are the the number one go to space for Nike Sportswear products and the freshest in sneaker drops in Mzansi ( and Africa for that matter! ). We are also hosting one of the biggest sporting events in the world, we are very enthusiastic about this and so should you, let’s all join forces of positive energy! We are ready!
JAY IS ON TO THE NEXT ONE!
Video director Sam Brown went crazy on this one, so does what Jay says, I am not gonna start discussing Swizz Beats beat. Yip! We are on to the next one!
2009 was probably one of Jay Z’s most successful years, this video closed it off nicely for him though. We think this is one of the freshest videos of 2009!
WE BRING YOU THE 2010TEASER
Hope you enjoyed your holiday season, 2010 promises to be a great year for Nike Sportswear. We bring you a behind the scenes video of the Nike NYC Destroyer Jacket photoshoot, shot by everyone’s downtown NYC darling Va$htie. Everybody that took part in this shoot is part of the new kids on the block in NYC’S ever fresh street fashion scene. The bad news is, we won’t be holding this jacket but we will get our very own Nike Destroyer jacket…… watch this space.
THE 2009 WRAP UP!!
2009 has been a tough, but over all good year for us except for the passing of The King of Pop and Shawn Mortensen ( R.I.P ). The positive energy created by the anticipation of the Mzansi 2010 World Cup has fed off to South Africans and the world over. We pushed quite a lot of exciting projects this year but some are our highlights, not because we want to blow our own vuvuzelas but It’s more of a pat on the back for everybody that was involved.

We are very pleased to be part of the PRODUCT ( RED ) with the global community helping out in Africa. The response from our local people has been overwhelming, the laces are flying out the shelves, come get your pair when we open doors on the 3rd of January 2010.

The Cape Burg book launch was also one of the most memorable moments in 2009. Thank you everybody that was involved and those that appreciate the work put in. We appreciate the feedback we are getting with this book.
The IAM1 Journey installation is still up at Gallery on 4th and it remains as one of the freshest installations to go up on our wall this year, make sure to swing by when we open again just so you could see it for yourself.
Remember The Cortez Brothers? It’s crazy almost anyone who walked into our space and saw The Cortez Brothers installation wanted to keep the mascots for their houses. It was hilarious, you would be telling people about the double pack ( It was a pair of Classic Cortez and Flymotion Cortez in one box ) and people would ask if the pack came with the mascots! It was a great story and the pack is still heavily requested.

Our Nike Air Yeezy launch really assured everyone that we are part of the global sneaker/ streetwear community. When the whole world was going crazy over the Nike Air Yeezy, South Africans were also going bonkers. When it dropped, we also had a crazy queue outside, kids waiting and waiting to get their hands on a pair, talk about hype! Most kids were like, ” This is is the new new Jordan, we are blessed to be part of the first ever drop! ”

This project si all about giving back to the homeless since Melville has so many. Cheesekids approached us as one of the drop off stations for anyone willing to donate food, old clothes etc to the homeless and underprivileged and we like ideas like that, we like ideas that get everybody involved. Helping Hands is an on going project and people still drop off their old stuff for donation at our space.
We would like to wish everybody a safe and prosperous new year! Have fun, Responsibly.
ok sharp!
